Epping Church Choirs Association (ECCA) was formed in 1972 and the original choir was drawn from members and friends of the four main churches in Epping. It remains an ecumenical choir but welcomes singers from all backgrounds. We hold four concerts each year – a main winter concert at the end of January, a Good Friday devotion, a summer concert in July and ‘Reflections’, a concert for Christmas. We also take part in one or two ecumenical services each year. The choir currently has around 40 members and sings a wide variety of music, both sacred and secular. Repertoire includes Requiems by Fauré, Mozart, Rutter, Saint-Saens and Bob Chilcott as well as works by Karl Jenkins (The Armed Man and Stabat Mater), Haydn, Mendelssohn (Elijah) and Rossini (Petite Messe Solennelle).
ECCA practises on Friday evenings in the Roman Catholic Church Hall in Epping. We are a friendly group and would welcome singers in all voice parts, preferably who have some previous experience of choral singing. There are no formal auditions but the Musical Director, Simon Winters, may wish to give a small voice test.
